Genesis 5:7 and 8

Revised: May 2020

Additional notes on the numbers. Considerable detail has been demonstrated with the ‘age’ numbers surrounding Adam and Seth. The same sets of number-ages surround each of the next eight character-names. One can readily see that to analyze all the following names and numbers of each character as was done with Adam and Seth would consume a considerable amount of time and space. It might also prove tedious if not overwhelming reading for all but the most dedicated Literal Qabalist.

Therefore, the rest of this lineage from Enosh to Noah will be analyzed in a more abbreviated fashion. All the “uses of the Qabalists” will be presented, but not all of them with each character. In this manner those who wish to learn the various ‘tools’ will have examples of their utility. If the more ardent Qabalist wishes to explore each name further, he will have examples of how to do so from all the other names.

Genesis 5:7 “Then Seth lived 807 years after he became the father of Enosh, and he had other sons and daughters.”

In Exodus 27:20 is written: “Command the Sons of Israel to bring clear pressed olive oil for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning.” Olive oil is סמן זית, shemen zayith, summing to 807. ‘Olive oil for lamps’ is repeated in the New Testament as ‘oil’ is the kundalini force and the ‘lamps’ refer to the force-centers or chakras of the Yogis. This is partially the end result of the Covenant. The raising of kundalini establishes reunion with the Creator (AB, the Father in Chokmah), which was promised from the beginning. The Beni Ha-Elohim are assured as co-creators for all eternity.

Beni Ha-Elohim, בני ה-אלהים, ‘Sons of the Elohim’, totals 713, that of תשובה, teshubah, ‘repentance, return to right living, return to God’. To ‘return’ to our source requires pauses and rests from the intense and tension-filled activity required of our daily lives. If we are to aspire it calls for cessation, the truer meaning behind שבתאי, Shabathai, ‘the Sabbath’. In Mark 2:27-28, the Christ commented to the Pharisees: “The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. Consequently, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” The Master was teaching that human-kind needs rest to restore oneself. Whereas with Beni Ha-Elohim this is not so. For when we return and come to full manifestation in Christ, the eternal Self needs no rest. After every pause, rest or end begins a whole new cycle of creativity, but as co-creators.

As with Adam the character Seth also holds a concealed number. Subtracting 105 from 807 renders 702. The Sabbath, שבת, shabat, ‘Day of Rest’, cessation from work; dwelling place; seat, sitting. ShabaThai is the archetypal creation divided into periods or cycles or rest and work. This is the divine pattern or plan according to Qabalists. By Theosophical Reduction 702 reduces to 9, a number of cessation and end. This is also the number of the ninth sphere, Yesod (Foundation) on the Tree of Life, the very definition of Seth, שת, as a noun.

“...and he had other sons and daughters.” This clause is attached to every name in the genealogy from Adam to Lamech, the father of Noah; and in Genesis 11:10 with every name in the line from Shem to Nahor. The Hebrew of this clause is the very same in each instance:

...ויולד  בנים  ובנות

...and daughters sons and he had…

The English adjective “other” is not in any Hebrew version. I surmise that the translators of the period included it to make sense and a flow for them. Otherwise I cannot account for the addition. However, as those authorized translators were not Qabalists, they could not perceive that the gematria of the entire clause in Hebrew sums to 622, that of בריתי, beriti, ‘my covenant,’ which harks back to the gematria around Seth’s name above in Genesis 5:6. Concealed within the Hebrew version of the narrative ‘and he had sons and daughters’ is, for the Literal Qabalist, a message of the covenant first established with Adam and carried on through Seth’s genealogy. This is reiterated with the Theosophical Reduction of 807 which sums to 15. This also flashes back to Adam in the section Genesis 5:5, the first paragraph, equating 15 with which in turn connects Seth again by the temurah of שת, making AB, the Father, another name for Chokmah.

Genesis 5:8 "So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died."

One multiple of 912 is (16×57); ; there is ample gematria with both numbers. Observe that 912 reduces to 12, and again to 3. Work these number clues out for yourself if you are serious, or even interested. We do not come to the Hidden Qabalah by reading about it.
