Zion

 

       Conscientious students of Qabalah and Alchemy most certainly would possess a copy of The True and Invisible Rosicrucian Order by Dr. Paul Foster Case. Easily found, it is the best effort yet revealing the arcane secrets of two Rosicrucian Manifestoes: Fama Fraternitatis and the Confessio. Three extraordinary quotations from Case’s work are presented here, and are relevant to the investigation of Zion:

"A Qabalist would also have known that 400 is the numeration of the Hebrew phrase, HNNI ISD BTzIVN ABN, ‘Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a Stone.’ He would have known, if he were an alchemist, that this ABN, ehben (stone) is the Philosophers' Stone, or Stone of the Wise. And as a Qabalist he would have known that the “wise” are those whose mental state is described by the Hebrew noun MShKIL, maskeel. In this connection note that maskeel is applied in the Qabalah to the ninth Sephirah – Yesod, the Foundation – and that it is the Hebrew equivalent of “the erudite,” so it describes the very type of person to whom the manifestoes were addressed. They were aimed at persons who had some knowledge of the “Stone in Zion,” which is described in Isaiah 28:16 as being laid for a Yesod, or Foundation. And they would have known that the real secret of this Stone is also the real secret of the Cross, which is the end, and so the fulfillment, of that whole dispensation that is represented symbolically by the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet."1

 

       Another development:

"The number 220 is also associated with Yesod in another way. For in Isaiah 28:16, where the prophet, in the name of Jehovah, speaks of laying a Stone in Zion for a Foundation, the Hebrew for “a sure foundation” is MVSD MVSD, musawd musawd, and these two words add to 220."2

 

       Finally, commentary on the cube symbolism in Tarot and the Bible as indicative of the Central Source:

"The practical meaning of the doctrine is simple. When we find the place of repose at the center, we have entered the sanctum sanctorum. There the Son, man, is one with the Father, God. The central point, then, is the point of identification with the Originating Spirit. That point is a definite location in the brain, the Zion mentioned by the prophet."3

 

       The gematria 220 is equal to טהור, tahoor, meaning 'clean, purified,' which is the name given the ninth Sephirah, Yesod, in the Book of Formation as 'The Purified Intelligence.' Dr. Case hints the “erudite” above. These are the chosen ones, the elect who have completed the Work through the Grace of God. The Hebrew for 'chosen, elect', is בחיר, bechir, adding to 220.

 

       Hebrew for Lamb, symbol for The Christ, is כר, kar, also totaling 220. Revelation 14:1 recounts the Lamb standing on Mount Sion (the Latin and Greek for Zion). The mount is that center of rest and repose which Dr. Case hints to be a point “in the brain,” the pineal gland. Zion is the full maturation of that gland when it is turned into an amber crystal at the end of the Great Work (See TRANSPARENT STONE). Various hints afforded us by the gematria in all three languages lead us to a certain conclusion. 'Zion' in Hebrew is ציון, tzion. Its number, 156, is shared with: Centrum Naturae, 'Center of Nature'; and נעול, nawul, the Hebrew for 'enclosed, shut up' (in Cant. 3:12); and עין יהוה, ayin yahwe, 'Eye of Jehovah.' This is equivalent to the 'Eye of Shiva' and the 'Eye of Horus.' Lastly, אדם עלאי, adam eeloi, Hebrew for 'celestial or high man,' equals 156.

 

       All these hint that the fully developed pineal gland, the “Central Fountain of Nature, the Eye of the Lord, Enclosed within the brain of the High Man,” is the secret place, Zion, in both Old and New Testaments. בציון, be-zion, 'in Zion,' totals 158, equal to מים חיים, mem kyeem, 'Living Waters,' and יהוה אלהינו יהוה, IHVH ALHINV IHVH, 'Yahwe, Our Lord, Yahwe.'

 

       Our Lord God dwells within as the Fountain of Living Waters. The Latin, in Sion, equals Abiegnus, the Rosicrucian 'fir wood,' at 72. Mons Abiegnus, 'the Mountain of Fir Wood,' is the symbol of a mystical ascent in consciousness in Rosicrucian writings. Seventy-two also equals the spelling of IHVH in plenitude (IUD HI VIV HI) in Atziluth, the Archetypal World, illustrated in Plate V to the introduction, Kabbalah Unveiled by S. L. MacGregor Mathers. The implication is that the fullest development of the pineal gland in mankind is the fullest expression of God from the Archetypal World of the fifth kingdom (fourth dimensional awareness) into this physical world. This is total union with the King (Tiphareth) and His Bride (Malkuth).

 

       Finally, the Latin Sion, at 51, is the number of Lapis, 'Stone.' For a personal research, may I suggest reading and pondering the passages before and after the verses listed here: Isaiah 28:16, Jeremiah 8:19 and 31:12, and Joel 2:1. In the New Testament look at: Romans 11:26, Hebrews 12:22 and Revelation 14:1. With the hints developed in this investigation, and pondering all the above Biblical verses, a miner should have no problem concluding the exact whereabouts of Zion, and what it truly means to be a 'Zionist' in the esoteric sense.
